William Shane Kaufman

“Faith, Courage, Service true, with Honor, Over Honor, Over All.”

U. S. Navy Retired Command Master Chief William Shane Kaufman entered eternal rest on March 26, 2023 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was the son of the late William Sanford Kaufman and the late Hazel Crossen Kaufman. He was predeceased by two daughters, Leslie and Tanya and several siblings.

William was first employed with the Wyoming County Sheriff Department before entering the United States Navy and retiring after thirty-three years of service.  He then gained
employment with the Portsmouth Virginia Police Department.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sandra S. Kaufman of the home; three
daughters, Sharain, Tina and Shana (Sean) McReynolds; special granddaughter, Janita (Steve) and a host of other
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
