Deacon William Leon Bogues, Sr. entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his wife and family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Bogues; six daughters, Maxine Riddick of Hampton, VA, Carrie Bogues Davis (Larry) of Temple Hills, MD, Valerie Elaine Bogues and Marsha Bogues both of Camden, NC, Addie Judine Purvis of Elizabeth City, NC; Gloria Annette Everett of Camden, NC; three sons, Jimmy "Poochie" Riddick of Elizabeth City, NC, William Leon "Bro" Bogues, Jr. (Valerie) of Elizabeth City, NC, Matthew "Buddy" Bogues (Jenny) of Pearland, TX; two sisters, Pennie Equilla Bogues Bailey of Camden, NC, Dorothy Bogues Scott of Walcott, CT; 17 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00pm at New Sawyers Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 312 Sleepy Hollow Rd., Camden, NC 27921 with a wake service 4-7pm on Saturday.
