Verba Morris Copeland

Verba Leona Morris Copeland, 86, of Elizabeth City, N.C entered into eternal life on Thursday, September. 8, 2016. She was born in Elizabeth City on May 7, 1930 to the lake Ernest Morris and Thelma Spellman Morris and was the widow of Clinton L. Copeland, Jr. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousins and friend. Mrs. Copeland is survived by three chidren, Vatara Copeland Slade of Elizabeth City NC, Clinton L. Copeland,III and wife Kimberly of Durham, NC and Velez Copeland Childress and husband Michael of Durham NC; five grandchildren, Keishmund Rogers, Curtis Williams, Quincy Slade, Shashone Childress, Kiah Childress and Devon Scott; three great grandchildren, Keishera Rogers, Keishmund Rogers, Jr., Quinton Williams;and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Chapel of Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life in Loving Memory of Verba Morris Copeland will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 12:00 o'clock noon at Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC.
