Rita Shani Jones

Rita Shani Jones, (AKA Teddi GWAPBOSS) 29, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2017 at her home. Born September 29, 1987 in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the youngest child of the late Ralph Jones Jr. and Erline Spellman Jones.

At an early age she accepted Christ at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Currituck County High School in Barco North Carolina in 2005. Rita worked at McDonald’s in Currituck, NC & Chesapeake, VA. She also worked at Target and Wal-Mart in Edinburgh, Va. Rita attended the Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV) where she perfected her passion and skill of cooking. Rita was an avid sports fan. She loved The New England Patriots and her favorite players; Tom Brady #12 and her cousin Cedric Jones #83 and she loved the Boston Celtics. She expressed her love through the art of tattooing, by displaying over 30 tattoos throughout her body. She loved to play Pokemon and watching her favorite movies: Who framed Roger Rabbit and Set it Off. 

Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday August 19, 2017 at 12 noon at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church Shawboro,North Carolina. Viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home Friday from 12 noon to 8pm.

She leaves to cherish her mother, Erline Jones, four siblings: Renita S. Jones of Moyock; Rhonda J. Howard (Bruce) of Stephenson, VA; Ralph III (Natalie) of Moyock, NC; Renee’ S Adkins (Gabriel) of Moyock, NC. Fifteen Nieces and nephews which she adored. A host of aunts and uncles: Fred Woodhouse of Virginia Beach, VA, Catherine Spellman and the late Randolph Spellman of Chesapeake VA, Ruby Jones of Portsmouth VA, Mary Cowell of Barco NC, Shirley Cherry (Walter), Linda Gallop, Clementine Cone (Charles), Patricia Land (Alfonso), George Spellman (Sharon), Annette Slade (Kelvin), Alice Blalock, Karen Riddick (James), William Spellman (Adrienne), Evelyn Henley (Jackie), Earl Jones (Betty), Kathy Babb, Darlene Hosein (Ansil), Clinton Jones(Virginia), Debra Jones, Special friends Shamona Swain and Frankie John Sakowicz and a host of cousins and friends.
