Melvin Williams of Elizabeth City, NC died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday May 16, 2015 at Bethel AME Zion Church at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Jacquelyn and Mark Brown, 602 Everett Drive, Elizabeth City, NC. Melvin leaves to cherish his loving memories; wife, Sherrie Williams; daughter, Nicole Carter (Michael) of Charlotte , NC, two sons, Tyrone Crosby (Chubby) of Charlotte, NC, Carl Drake of Atlanta, Ga; seven sisters, Catherine Griffin (Marvin, Sr.), Diane Johnson (Bobby), Jacquelyn Brown (Mark) all of Elizabeth City, NC, Debra Owens(Clinton), Ramona Williams, Mia Williams all of Richmond, Va. and Lynn Nikki Williams; brother, Charles Williams (Ida) both of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren; and a host of uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
