Martha Louise (Morris) Griffin

Mother Martha Louise Morris Griffin entered eternal rest on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Morris and the late Millie Bowe Morris and the wife of the late Raymond Griffin.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Angela Whitehurst and Kent Griffin; two sisters, Gracie Harvey and Faye Little; and two brothers, James and William Morris.

Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 9, 2026, 12:00 noon at The Mount Elizabeth City in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  A Christian Wake/Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Eastern Star COGIC in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Mother Martha leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, D. Yvette Swain (Curtis); thirteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Jean Barnett, , two Aunts, Vivian Young and Margie Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will be receiving friends at her daughter's residence, 112 Jennifer Dr. in Elizabeth City, North Carolina from Tuesday - Thursday between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
