Margaret Elliott Powell

Margaret Elliott Powell, of 157 Richard Shaw Road, Moyock, NC entered into eternal rest in Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Waterbrooke Assistant Living, Elizabeth City. Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Samuel Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Moyock, NC. A viewing will take place on Saturday, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4-6 at the funeral home. At other times family will receive friends at the home of her son, Vernon L. Powell, 224 Sharon Church Road, South Mills, NC. Margaret was the widow of the late Johnny C. Powell, Sr. She is survived by five sons, Johnny Powell, Jr., (Lorien) Boston, Mass., Vernon L. Powell (Precillia) of South Mills, NC., Weldon B. Powell, Sr., (Nina) of Chesapeake, VA., George L. Powell, Sr., (Martha) of Camden, N.C. and Carlton E. Powell, Sr. (Jazennie) of Chesapeake, VA, two brothers; Joseph Elliott and Vernon Elliott of Chesapeake, VA; one brother-in-law, Herman L. Powell, Sr., (Ardella); five sisters-in-law, Sarah P. Dunston, Grace W. Powell, Eva Elliott, Ann Elliott and Patricia Elliott; daughter-in-law, Jewel Powell of Fayetteville, NC; twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
