Mrs. Lorine Shirley Ann Stewart Spence (Took) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina entered eternal rest on March 30, 2023, at Norfolk Sentara Hospital, Norfolk Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Alphonso Stewart and Gladys Marie Griffin Stewart. She was the widow of the late Walter A. Spence, Jr. and was also predeceased by her siblings, Earl “Cubby” Stewart, Elton Williams, Mary White and her twin brother-Lorenza “Buddy” Stewart.
Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, April 8, 2023, 12 noon at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ricky L. Banks, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment will be at Memory Garden Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Family visitation/viewing will be Friday, April 7, 2023, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Beach River Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Masks are still required for all services.
In addition to her mother, “Took” leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Lamonda Spence, Portsmouth, Virginia; two sons, Demetrce Spence and Quinton C. Stewart both of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother Alan Stewart (Patrice), Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two sisters, Esther “Lulu” Anderson, Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Kathleen “Kat” Stewart, Chesapeake, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
