Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at New Sawyers Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Camden, NC. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at his sister's residence, Elsie Harris Lyons 1401 Walkers Ave. Apt 261 Elizabeth City, NC. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Amy Harris; two daughters, Tara W. Atkins of Elizabeth City, NC and Star Hentz(Mario) of Lockport, NY; three sisters, Elsie Harris Lyons(Tony) of Elizabeth City, NC, Geraldine Strum (Richard) of Raleigh, NC, Pastor Vernell McMichael of Lancaster, Ca.; three brothers, Willie Cowell of Brooklyn, NY, Andrew Harris, Jr. (Cynthia) of Elizabeth City, NC and John Arthur Harris (Annie Mae) of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
