Jean Carolyn Lister Griffin entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Chesapeake General Hospital, Chesapeake, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Charles Lister and the late Mable Jones and the wife of the late William Griffin.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, April 12, 2025, 12:00 noon at Open Door Christian Fellowship Church, South Mills, North Carolina with Rev. Joseph Thompson, Pastor and Rev. John Lee Griffin, Eulogist. Interment will immediately follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A viewing/visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Wendy McPherson (Steve), South Mills, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Steven McPherson and Tiffany McPherson, both of South Mills, North Carolina; one sister, Dorothy Douglas, Waldorf, Maryland; one brother, Ivan Pendleton, Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two step-sons, Edward Griffin, Philippines and Michael Griffin (Sharon), South Mills, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive guests at her daughter’s residence beginning Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 301 Stingy Lane, South Mills, North Carolina.
