Idella Louise Askew Darden, 100 Rivers Edge Circle, Apt 106, of Elizabeth City, NC, died on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at New Christian Home Baptist Church, Moyock, NC. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Idella leaves to love and remember her, four sisters; Shelly (Ellis) Jones of Moyock, NC, Alice Sheck and Corlis Askew, both of Hertford, NC and Shannon (Donald) Cooper of Moyock, NC; one brother, William (Diane) Askew, Jr of Hertford, NC; one brother-in-law who treated her as a sister, Jerry Spence of Moyock, NC; one god daughter, Darnesha White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. We cannot leave out a very special person to her, Robert L. Mercer of Chesapeake, VA. Rivers Community Funeral Home is expressing sympathy through sincere service to the Darden family.
