Donnell Thornton of 421 Neck Rd, Camden, NC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA. Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church at 12;00 noon. The family will receive friends at his residence. Mr. Thornton leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Barbara Thornton; two daughters, Donesia Adams(Michael) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Blanche Rawls(Rodrezki) of Edenton, NC; son, James Hurdle, Sr.(Sharon) of Newport News, Va; mother, Evelyn Thornton of Shiloh, NC; four sisters, Viola Thornton, Donna Stiles, Elaine Chamblee(Joey) and Theresa Richardson(Kelvin); two brothers, Ross Thornton, Sr.(Mary) and L. Moses Thornton, Jr.(Dorsha); 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
