Alice Mae Downing, 51, of 702 Bunnells Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Chesapeake, VA. Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Community Church, Elizabeth City, NC. A viewing will take place on Monday, at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The family is receiving friends at the home of the deceased. Alice leaves to cherish her loving memories; two daughters, Sherrika Cofield and Nisha Grubbs, both of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Tyrese Cofield and Jermaine Cofield, both of Elizabeth City, NC; four sisters, Yvette Gandy of Georgia; Linda A. Downing-Santiful of Hampton, Va. Brenda M. Downing of Amityville Long Island, NY,and Evelyn J. Downing of Roosevelt, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
